Tempting Tuesdays ~ Pineapple-Cinnamon Margaritas

This weekend while celebrating all we love about the father figures in our lives, we can sit back and relax with this interesting twist on the traditional Margarita. This gives a hint of sweetness to balance out the sting of the Tequila. You can also make a nonalcoholic version of this drink to let the young ones or those who don't drink join in on the fun. Recipe adapted from Better Homes and Gardens.

1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
10 lime wedges
1 1/2 cup lime juice
1 cup powdered sugar
2 cups pineapple juice

For Alcohol version add
3 cups Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
2 cups Tequila

For Nonalcoholic version add
3 cups Orange juice
2 cups Sprite or 7up

In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Place mixture on a plate and rub the rims of eight glasses with lime then dip in mixture.

In a pitcher, combine Triple Sec/Orange juice, Tequila/Sprite, lime juice, and powdered sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add pineapple juice to mixture and stir.

Add ice to sugar rimmed glasses and pour mixture in. Garnish with fresh pineapple, lime wedges, or cinnamon sticks. Enjoy!
