Feeding My Kindle ~ November 4th, 2013

Whoa! What an amazing couple of weeks. I've been busy reading, cooking, organizing, and getting ready for National Novel Writing Month or NaNo for short. I'm excited to share all of this with you. More details at the end of the post. Let's talk books.

Seven Day Fiance (Love and Games, #2)Angelle left home and her almost fiance nine months ago but is now faced with a dilema. To keep her overbearing family off her back, she told them she was engaged to her roommate's brother, Cane, and she expected to bring him home for Thanksgiving. When she wins Cane in a bachelor auction she asks him to pretend for her family. What neither of them know is how real they will end up wanting it to be.

Between The Sheets (Against The Wall, #2)Mel has loved her best friend's brother, Ty, for as long as she can remember. Other relationships and thousands of miles have separated them over the years. Now newly divorced Mel is ready to give in again to the attraction and Ty is more than willing. One big problem, they both love their jobs and neither wants the other to give anything up for the other. An unexpected surprise has Mel making the decision for the both of them.

Trouble in Mudbug (Ghost-in-Law, #1)Define living hell. The mother-in-law you despised in life is now a ghost who needs you to solve her murder. That is what Maryse is faced with when the dead mother husband who abandoned her two years earlier begins to pester her from the afterlife. Helena was a bitch and a half while alive which makes solving her murder no picnic. When Marsye receives a huge inheritance from Helena, she is the next to be taken out. Only Helena and her pesky new officemate, sexier than sin Luc, are able to help her make it from one day to the next.

Betting on You (Always a Bridesmaid, #1)Lark want to believe she is over Mason and the cruel way he left her four years before. When Mason turns up at there friend's wedding with sweet words and an even sweeter smile, she wonders if things could be different. Mason messed up, but he has learned from their years apart. He convinces Lark to give him seven days to win her back, but when secrets resurface he might not have enough time to put things right again.

Beautiful Bastard (Beautiful Bastard, #1)Book one of the Beautiful Bastard Series has Chloe and Bennett making all the wrong choices. She is his intern at a prestigeious marketing firm. He is the bastard COO who would rather be a bastard than admit to his attraction. One night in an empty conference room, Bennett breaks and takes what he wants. Ripping panties, hateful words, and steamy sex keep the two coming back for more. When things get heated in a different way,
neither expects what comes next.

Beautiful Player (Beautiful Bastard, #3)Book three of the Beautiful Bastard Series brings nerdy scientist Hanna to the doorstep of her brother's best friend, known player Will. Seven years her senior, Will has always seen Hanna as a kid. When her brother suggests that Hanna become more social and leave her lab for a change, she gives Will a call. What begins as two friends training together for a half marathon becomes a lesson in life and love.

Over the last two weeks I've read "Against the Wall" and "Between the Sheets" by Julie Prestsater, "Beautiful Bastard" and "Beautiful Player" by Christina Lauren, "Honor" by MB Feeney, "Seven Day Fiance" by Rachel Harris, "Trouble in Mudbug" by Jana Deleon, and "Seducing an Heiress" by Judy Teel. Some very fun reading while getting my newest project together.

The tentative title for my NaNo project this year is "Grimm Twin Tales" but I don't think that will end up being the final title. This is a new venture for me of sorts. I will be tackling the fantasy genre with this twisted fairy tale as well as the new adult genre. This is not the original tales the Grimm Brothers wrote or what Disney has portrayed over the years. This is three famous tales brought together like never before. Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Snow White have never been told like this before. I hope to have a rough draft done by the end of the month but with the weekend being so busy and sick kids, I'm already behind. I'm not giving up though. My goal is to have this project ready to submit by January so we will see how it goes.

If you want a taste of the holidays, I have two holiday romance short stories releasing this year. "Not the Same Season" releases November 19th with the cover reveal tomorrow, November 5th. "Holiday Cure for the Cursed" releases December 17th as part of the "Melting the Snow" Collection. Look for more info and some fun holiday contests coming in the next few months.
