Narrative: Third person

Her friend. Her boss. Her husband?
Betsy Harris has always known Jace Macnamara was off-limits. Not only is he a close friend, he also happens to be her boss—making him doubly forbidden. Betsy’s too timid to ever admit her crush, nor ‘fess up to the fact that she’s secretly drowning in her mother’s medical bills.
Jace just found out he needs a wife and needs one now. His childhood home—the last reminder he has of his deceased parents—can only become his if he gets married, but Jace, ever the playboy, never dreamed of settling down for real. Neither Betsy nor Jace wants to ruin their friendship when their fake marriage inevitably ends, so they vow to keep things light, professional, easy. But as Betsy comes out of her shell, Jace begins to see his “wife” for the beautiful, caring woman she is. Can he risk their past for a future together?

Warning: You will need tissues to make it through this novel.

My heart ached for Betsy from page one. A sweet, shy young woman, Betsy only has her boss and a few close friends to escape her family life with. But when Betsy is hit with increasing medical bills for her mother and her boss, Jace, is in danger of losing his childhood home without a wife, she takes a leap that could lead to disaster in more ways than one.

The way Jace is written made me way to curl up next to him and lay my head on his shoulder. Despite his reputation for being a serial dater, he is the most generous and decent guy you could ever meet. He knows Betsy needs money, but never asks why. When they marry, he begins to discover all the reasons he loved having her as his legal assistant were only a small part to loving her as a woman.

Afraid for her heart, Betsy keeps her mother a secret from her new husband. The bumps they hit in their unconventional marriage give each of their hearts some bad bruises, but their happily ever after becomes attainable.

I had the tissues handy for the last half of this story. I would get to a point to where I would stop, then something else would happen and I'd start all over again. Some were happy tears, so I didn't mind. I love when I can get so emotionally involved in a story, it makes me feel very connected with the characters.

Thank you so much to Kelley Vitollo, Entangled Publishing, and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this story. This it the third in the Shamrock Falls series, but can be read by itself.

Kelley has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first
writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote on, "Tomorrow's Leaders
on the Move". Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for
a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family.
In 2004 Kelley, her husband, and new baby girl made a move from Oregon to
Southern California and that's when everything changed. As a stay-at-home
mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven't been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days

spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl
in the world.  She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she
loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore
with her laptop.
