You get two reviews in one post! Welcome to the Fifty Shades Series by E.L. James.
GoodReads Summary: When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.
The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her - but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
One innocent and beautiful college grad. Add a mysterious, wealthy, domineering, and devilishly handsome CEO. Toss in a seriously dark past. What you end up with is the erotic masterpiece that is “Fifty Shades of Grey”.
Although the story is told through Ana's point of view, James is able to accurately display both Ana and Christian's sides of their relationship. I really felt like I was able to understand him through Ana's thoughts, maybe even more than she herself did.
This was my first foyer into the realm of full length erotic fiction. Not knowing exactly what I was getting into, I was a little shocked when it felt like no time at all between page 1 and page 380. James kept the action flowing as well as the juicy and delicious sexual escapades. The tension between the two is palpable on every page, making me rush to the next. Christian's need for control and Ana's need for her own independence had me intrigued to find out how exactly it would all turn out. Could a couple with so many obstacles really make a go of it? They try their ever loving best.
James definitely has a steamy hit on her hands and deserves every bit of praise she receives. I could hardly contain my exhilaration for the next book in the series when I hit the last page and was left desperately wanting. Thank all that is holy, the wait was short, yet well worth it.

GoodReads Summary: Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.
But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades.
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life.
Christian and Ana start off the second book of the Fifty Shades series in utter misery. Being apart for any amount of time seemed detrimental to them both physically and emotionally. Even though the story is told from Ana's point of view, I felt the pain of Christian's agony while they were apart.
Once Ana makes the decision to take another chance with Christian, it's not all a bed of roses or even a nice romp with a little bondage. James throws another wrench in this couple's journey in the form of a delusional ex of Christian's.
I was on edge the entire book waiting for things to fall apart at any moment. There were times I thought they could never continue on, but the determination of two people who are truly meant for each other had to prevail. Right?
Even though this novel is listed as erotica, James adds plenty of suspense, thrill, and romance to reach every readers taste. She plans on making me wait longer still to find out the fate of my favorite functional disfunctional couple as she leads us into the final novel in the series. I'll be ticking off the days on my calender as I do throughly believe I am 50 shades obsessed with this series.
